  • ASD013: Autism Added Authorization

    Training hours: 120.0

    The Project Optimal™ Autism Spectrum Disorders Program is an online self study program made up of 19 topic areas. Candidates will learn about and understand Autism Spectrum Disorders. In addition they will be able to conduct a Functional Behavioral Assessment and then develop, implement, and monitor a Positive Behavioral Intervention Plan using person-centered approaches.

  • ASD023: Autism Added Authorization (No FASD)

    Training hours: 120.0

    To be eligible for the program "Autism Added Authorization (No FASD)", you must have completed the "Foundations in Autism Spectrum Disorders (FASD)" program within the previous 24 months. Project Optimal will verify this prior to making submission to the CTC. If a candidate has enrolled in this program and is found not to have meet this criteria, then they will be required to complete the additional 4 Lessons contained in the FASD program.

  • ASD003: Autism Added Authorization Practicum

    The purpose of this practicum is to demonstrate the application of the concepts discussed during the Autism Added Authorization coursework. While we agree that there is no single way to conduct such exercises as a functional assessment, there are key concepts that cannot be ignored in order for a support plan to have the best chance of succeeding. In this practicum, we will be looking for people to demonstrate an understanding and inclusion of these key components in a practical application of the concepts discussed.

  • FASD012: Foundations in Autism Spectrum Disorder (FASD)

    Training hours: 30.0

    Foundations in Autism Spectrum Disorders is a four-part online self-study course providing basic understanding about autism, the legal environment in which schools and districts operate, and the primary instructional interventions currently being employed to help children with autism.

  • ASD014: Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders

    Training hours: 120.0

    The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 1 in 68 children has been identified with autism spectrum disorder (CDC, 3/27/14). Designed for general education teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, DIS Providers, board members and parents. The Project Optimal Certificate in Autism Studies is an online, self-paced, distance learning program made up of 19 topic areas. This is not an added authorization. Candidates will learn about and understand Autism Spectrum Disorders. In addition they will be able to understand a Functional Behavioral Assessment and then under supervision develop, implement, and monitor a Positive Behavioral Intervention Plan using person-centered approaches. The content aligns with the National Autism Center's National Standards Project - Autism Guidelines for evidenced-based practice and treatment strategies. No previous fieldwork is required.

  • ED001: Emotional Disturbance Added Authorization

    Training hours: 135.0

    The Project Optimal™ Emotional Disturbance Program is an online self-paced, distance learning program made up of 3 courses and a 45 hour practicum and is equivalent to 135 hours of classroom time. (Please note: the practicum requires separate enrollment)

  • EC001: Early Childhood Special Education Added Authorization

    Training hours: 180.0

    The Project Optimal Early Childhood Education Program is an online self study program made up of 4 courses and a 45 hour practicum and is equivalent to 180 hours of face-to-face training. The ECSE AA Courses offered through Project Optimal are approved for 12 graduate level professional development credits through Brandman University. Credit will be given for the practicum if the fieldwork can be verified.
