    This course focuses on understanding the competencies that produce positive developmental outcomes for infants and toddlers in early childhood programs. Through observations of scenarios of a variety of early childhood settings, students will learn the practices that educational professionals use to develop a more inclusive and accessible environment for all children who qualify for special education under IDEA or Section 504. In addition, students will learn the strategies needed for building strong relationships with families and other community agencies. Students will also learn the components and strategies for conducting developmental screenings, evaluations and assessment. Students will demonstrate an understanding of how to create and implement Individual Education Programs and Individualized Family Service Plans and how to monitor child progress.
